    Bring your binoculars and have a great morning birding! Join Redwood Region Audubon Society volunteers for a guided bird walking tour of the Arcata Marsh Wildlife Sanctuary. No reservations are required! This free tour takes place rain or shine and is open to all-ages. Participants are instructed to meet in the parking lot at the end of South I Street near Klopp Lake at 8:30 am.

    Join Friends of the Arcata Marsh (FOAM) volunteers for a tour of the wildlife sanctuary. This free tour takes place rain or shine! No reservations are necessary. Participants are instructed to meet at the Interpretive Center at 2 PM.

Volunteer Work Days

  1. Arcata Marsh Community Clean-Up Day

    April 6, 2019, 10:00 AM - 12:00 PM @ Arcata Marsh Interpretive Center

    Our Environmental Services Department, Friends of the Arcata Marsh and Humboldt Pet Supply are seeking volunteers to assist with cleaning up the Arcata Marsh and Wildlife Sanctuary on Saturday, April 6 from 10 AM to 12 PM. All ages are welcome, including families! Work will include picking up trash and pet waste left behind, and this work will take place rain or shine. Participants will have the opportunity to win various prizes from local business including Heart Bead, Plaza Arcata, Finnish Country Sauna and Tubs, SCRAP Humboldt, Lost Coast Roast and People's Records by participating in a painted rock hunt! Volunteers are asked to meet at 10 AM at the marsh parking lot, located at 569 South G Street in Arcata. All are encouraged to arrive early to enjoy refreshments and snacks before embarking on the cleanup adventure. Please wear a long-sleeved shirt, pants and boots and to bring a reusable water bottle. Clean-up supplies, materials and refreshments will be provided.
